1、Product Introduction

 

 

PTC water heaters can provide heat in the cockpit of new energy vehicles and meet the standards of defrosting and safe evacuation. At the same time, it provides heat for other vehicles that require temperature control (such as batteries).

 

2、Design advantages:

①Adopt 4-way PWM control mode, the bus impact current is small, and the requirements for the relay in the vehicle circuit are low.

②PWM mode control enables the power to be adjusted continuously.

③The CAN communication method can report the working status of the controller, which is convenient for the control and monitoring of the whole vehicle.

 

3、Control function

4.4.1 Soft start function: PWM soft start

PWM from 0% to 100% it takes 30 seconds. This function is used to protect the high inrush current and sudden changes on the high voltage bus. Each channel is soft-started step by step, there is ripple current during the soft-start process, and the impact current is small (<1.3 times the rated current).

 

4.4.2 Restricted functions:

4.4.2.1 Temperature limit

①When the temperature of the water outlet reaches 80°C, it will actively reduce the power gradually to keep the water temperature at the water outlet relatively constant
② When the temperature of any IGBT reaches 85°C, it will actively reduce the power gradually or shut down, and resume work when the temperature is lower than 80°C, so that the IGBT temperature does not exceed the limit
4.4.2.2 Power limitation

①Soft start power limit: the power of each channel is limited to 3800W during soft start

 

4.4.3 Protection function:

4.4.3.1 High voltage overvoltage and undervoltage protection

The working voltage range can be set according to customer requirements. If the heater is not within the range, it will not start or be turned off. If it returns to the range, it will restart softly to the current set value.
4.4.3.2 IGBT drive voltage overvoltage and undervoltage protection

When the IGBT driving voltage is not within the set working range, the heating will be completely turned off, and then soft start to the current set value after recovery.
4.4.3.3 Low-voltage reverse connection protection The low-voltage reverse connection does not work.
4.4.3.4 Outlet water temperature over-temperature protection

When the outlet water temperature exceeds 105°C for 3 seconds, all heating will be turned off immediately

4.4.3.5 Short circuit protection

If any PTC is short-circuited, the circuit will be turned off immediately. Repeat the detection 5 times, if it is still short-circuited, the circuit will not turn on the heating until it is powered on again.
4.4.3.6 Overcurrent protection

If the circuit continues to exceed 2 times the rated current for 5s during heating, it is considered overloaded and the circuit will be shut down and restarted.
