Basic knowledge of PTC

PTC: Positive temperature coefficient (PTC for short); the PTC effect is the phenomenon that the resistance increases with the increase of temperature.
NTC: The opposite of the PTC effect is the NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient negative temperature coefficient) effect.
Ceramic PTC resistor: a ceramic thermistor semiconductor resistor with PTC effect, the main material is PbxBa(1-x)TiO3.
PTC heater: Refers to all types of heaters that use ceramic PTC resistors as heating elements, including constant temperature PTC heaters, air-heated PTC heaters, water-heated PTC heaters, etc.

3、Power-on inspection

Only high voltage runs without limiting heater performance.
After turning on or resetting the heater, the heater waits for a power request on the CAN bus, and once a valid power request is received, the power-on check starts.
First, check the total current with all the heating circuits of the heater inactive. If it exceeds the predetermined value, the heater is not working at this time, so this fault indicates a short circuit, leakage current or open circuit fault.

 

4、Temperature setting

Temperature setting: PTC temperature setting, the precision is 1, and the offset is 0.
When the heating outlet temperature is < the set temperature Temperature setting, it will be heated according to the set power PTC power ratio; when the heating temperature is ≥ the set temperature, the power output will be automatically reduced to achieve constant temperature control.
Temperature setting: The data range is 0-80°C. When the setting exceeds 80°C, it will work according to the set temperature of 80°C.
