The advent of new energy vehicles like electric cars brings a problem of range deterioration caused by heating and air conditioning. Conventional cars utilize excess heat from the engine for such purposes. However, electric and new-energy vehicles do not have an engine or an adequate heat source. This is where PTC electric heaters come into the picture, and they can be used for water heating, battery heating, seat heating, and defrosting of rear-view mirrors.

Product Structure:

The high-pressure coolant heater assembly has 4 φ4.45 mounting holes, which are provided for vehicle or bracket installation. The recommended installation torque is 5N±1; the φ19 standard water pipe is used, and the specifications are as shown below. The installation structure and quantitative data are shown in the 3D digital model and 2D drawings.
The high-pressure coolant heater assembly has 1 M6 stud for vehicle grounding wire connection. It is recommended to use an M6 nut to fix the grounding harness to the grounding screw. The recommended nut tightening torque is: ≤9Nm.
Products high voltage interlock

High-voltage interlock
The high voltage interlock signal is directly led out from the low voltage end, not uploaded through the bus, see the definition of the low voltage port.
When the high voltage connector is disconnected, the high voltage interlock line is disconnected before the high voltage power line. After the vehicle detects that the interlock line is disconnected, the high-voltage power will be cut off. This function effectively avoids the possibility of sparks and the risk of electric shock when the high-voltage connector is connected and disconnected.

A. Overvoltage protection: The vehicle needs to have an over-voltage and under-voltage power supply shutdown function
B. Short-circuit current: It is recommended to arrange a special fuse in the high-voltage circuit of the heater to protect the heater and related parts of the high-voltage circuit
C. The vehicle system needs to ensure a reliable insulation monitoring system and insulation fault handling mechanism.

E. Ensure that the positive and negative poles of the high-voltage power supply cannot be reversed
Vehicle installation environment requirements
A. The heater must be arranged according to the recommended requirements, and it must be ensured that the air inside the heater can be discharged with the water channel. If the heater is trapped inside, it may cause the heater to overheat, thereby activating software protection, and in severe cases, hardware damage may occur.
B. The heater is not allowed to be arranged at the highest position of the cooling system. It is recommended to place it at a relatively low position of the cooling system.
C. The working environment temperature of the heater is -40℃~120℃. It is not recommended to be installed in an environment without air circulation around the high heat source of the vehicle (hybrid vehicle engine, range extender, pure electric vehicle exhaust pipe, etc.).
