Working principle of electric water pump


The basic working principle of the electric water pump is: that the motor drives the pump impeller to rotate, driving the coolant to flow in the system, thereby removing heat and achieving heat exchange. The following is the working process of the electric water pump in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

 

Coolant flow: The electric water pump pumps the coolant (usually a water-ethylene glycol mixture) to areas such as the fuel cell stack, battery pack, engine and electronic control system.


Heat exchange and heat dissipation: Through the flow of coolant, heat is taken away from the heat source, and the coolant transfers the heat to components such as radiators and heat exchangers, where heat exchange is carried out with the outside air, thereby dissipating excess heat.


Thermostatic control: Through the coordinated work of the electric water pump and the cooling system, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles can keep each core component running at the optimal operating temperature, improving overall performance and service life.

Function of the electronic water pump


Battery cooling: The electronic water pump circulates the coolant into the battery module, taking away the heat generated by the battery during the charging and discharging process, preventing the battery from overheating, and ensuring the battery's efficient and stable operation.


Drive system cooling: When the motor and electronic control system are working, the electronic water pump circulates the coolant to transfer the heat to the radiator to dissipate it. This ensures the normal operating temperature of the power system and avoids power interruption or component damage due to overheating.


Thermal management system integration: The electronic water pump plays a key role in the vehicle thermal management system. It can accurately control the coolant flow and flow rate according to the vehicle's operating conditions (such as high-speed driving, low-speed creeping or parking charging) to achieve energy saving and consumption reduction.


Support heat pump air conditioning system: In electric vehicles with heat pump air conditioning systems, electronic water pumps can work together to accelerate the circulation of coolant between heat exchangers, improve the efficiency of the heat pump in extracting heat from the external low-temperature environment, and optimize the energy consumption performance of the vehicle.
